Age 24. 1393 Washington Street, Norwood, MA. Born on 1/09/1918, in Norwood. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning (death certificate). Deputy collector, Internal Revenue Service. Was in a party with her older sister Hannah, age 28, same address, her cousin Miss Katherine "Kay" Holland, age 32, of Dorchester (Boston), MA, and a friend, Miss Alice Brady, age 28, of East Walpole, MA, all dead: "The...girls...formed a foursome Saturday afternoon to witness the B.C.-H.C. game and afterward went to the Boston night club" (Norwood Messenger, 12/01/1942). The group was joined at the Grove by acquaintances Miss Ruth Dwyer, age 26, of Milton, MA, and Miss Nora "Noreen" Sullivan, age 29, of Forest Hills (Boston), MA, both dead, for an all-girls gathering of six. Her body was identified at Southern Mortuary in Boston. Was single. Lived at the same residence her entire life. With her sister was one of seven female pairs of siblings taken in the blaze (also Misses Rose and Sally Summer, ages 35 and 33, Misses Louise and Irma Wilding, ages 22 and 19, all single; plus Mrs. Sadie Levin and Mrs. Adelaide "Addie" Wasserman, ages 38 and 32, Mrs. Josephine Powell and Mrs. Helen Lillian Cafarella, ages 29 and 26, Mrs. Ethel Slate and Mrs. Jeanette "Jennie" Zall, ages 48 and 35, and Mrs. Mildred Whitmarsh and Mrs. Margaret Lewis, ages 28 and 24, all married). In addition nine sets of mixed-gender siblings, one pair of male siblings, patrons Max, age 26, and Sica "Sam" Wyner, age 24, plus four Fitzgerald brothers, all of Wilmington, MA, were lost. With her sister were two of three Grove victims from the southwest Hub suburb of Norwood (also Miss Helen Uservitch "Savage," age 26, a patron in a separate party). Parents Mr. Michael J. and the late Mrs. Nora (Healy) O'Dea, same address. Burial with her older sister at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
