Age 37. 29 Homer Road, Quincy, MA. Born 5/04/1905, Jamaica Plain (Boston), MA. Died of suffocation (death certificate), or, "...dead from trampling" (The Boston Herald, 11/30/1942). President of Randall-Faichney, Inc. (surgical instruments), Roxbury (Boston), MA. Wife Mary A., age 33 (Born 1/31/1909. Died as Mary A. Kelley on 9/28/1993, age 84. Last residence Pittsfield, MA), escaped. Couple witnessed the big afternoon B.C./Holy Cross football game at Fenway Park in a group hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest, dead, and Marion Bizzozero (Born 1/04/1902. Died 6/18/1988, age 86), survived, both age 40, then attended an evening post-game cocktail party at the Quincy, MA, home of Mr. and Mrs. Bizzozero. Party of 14 then reunited at the Grove. Were seated in the main dining room at tables combined to make an elongated table near the right edge of the rolling dance floor. Nine perished. Wife informed reporters: "...There wasn't a sound in the place. The show had finished and intermission had just started...Suddenly someone shouted 'Fire'..." (Quincy Patriot Ledger, 11/30/1942). Wife (quote): "I had lost my fur coat, my shoes, my gloves, my pocketbook, and my dress was ripped off" (The Boston Globe, 11/30/1942). Also: "My husband, Tom, was right behind me...I still can't figure out why my husband didn't get out. He was right behind me." Was reported in 1959 by Grove author Paul Benzaquin that his widow for months after escape, "...carried the complete outline of a man's shoe across her breast" (Holocaust!). Was raised in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston. Married in 1928, in Boston. Survived by daughters Geraldine, age 12, and Ann, age 7. Family summered several years at Falmouth Heights, MA. Middle initial was misreported as "A." in some era newspapers, on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety master list of casualties, and on his death certificate. Was stocky (WWII draft registration, October '40: 5' 4," 160 lbs.). With his wife was one of 25 married couples present where one spouse died and the other survived. Parents Mrs. Rose H.
