Was visiting the club with her boyfriend John Collins, age 22, of Everett, MA, dead. "Relatives said the couple had planned to go to a theatre, but believed they found it crowded and decided to go to the Cocoanut Grove" (The Boston Post, 11/30/1942). "Sunday her father read of the disaster in the Herald. He found her body at the northern mortuary after viewing more than a hundred bodies" (The Boston Herald, 11/30/1942). Was a graduate of Arlington High School in 1940. Was single. Was a lifelong Arlington resident. Was the youngest of three victims from the nearby town of Arlington (also Grove bartender John Bruno Marchi, age 29, and patron Miss Laura Ryan, age 42). One of 46 teens taken in the disaster (at least 37 others known present survived). One of 234 females deceased, also 256 males (the latter count including two outside passing rescue workers), a total of 490 killed. One of two fatalities employed at the above Hub-based insurance firm (also Miss Ella Whitmarsh, age 34, of Dorchester, MA, a patron in a separate party). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Gustave H. and Josephine V. (Lowe) Anderson, same address. Burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. One of four Grove casualties interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery (also above Arlington residents Mr. Marchi and Miss Ryan, plus patron Miss Ethel Gartland, age 27). Middle name Elizabeth.
