Age 35. 41 Bellvista Road, Brighton (Boston), MA. Born 8/28/1907, Brooklyn, NY. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning (death certificate). Buyer, infants department, R. H. White Co. (department store), Boston. In a cellar Melody Lounge mixed-gender foursome with her single younger sister Sally, age 33, also Myer Marks, of Brookline, MA, and Lawrence "Larry" Taylor, both age 39, of Roxbury (Boston), MA, all dead. Group attended the big afternoon Holy Cross 55-to-12 crushing of nationally top-ranked Boston College at Fenway Park. Her father (not present) filed the first legal case relative to the Grove disaster in early December, sought to prevent payment by five insurance companies to New Cocoanut Grove, Inc., until he could try separate cases for the death and conscious suffering of his daughters. Motion was denied by Judge Walter L. Collins, in Suffolk Superior Court, Boston, on December 15. Was single. Raised in Roxbury. Was living with her family in Chelsea, MA, as of 1932 street listings (clerk). For reasons unknown showed varying birth dates on three era passenger manifests: "1/28/1909" in 1936, "8/28/1908" in '39, and "8/28/1909" in '40 (the date used here is taken directly from New York City birth records). With her sister was one of seven female sibling pairs to perish in the blaze (also Misses Hannah and Winifred O'Dea, ages 28 age 24, Misses Louise and Irma Wilding, ages 22 and 19, all single; plus Mrs. Sadie Levin and Mrs. Adelaide "Addie" Wasserman, ages 38 and 32, Mrs. Josephine Powell and Mrs. Helen Lillian Cafarella, ages 29 and 26, Mrs. Ethel Slate and Mrs. Jeanette "Jennie" Zall, ages 48 and 35, and Mrs. Mildred Whitmarsh and Mrs. Margaret Lewis, ages 28 and 24, all married). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Hyman "Harry" and Rachel (Cohen) Summer, same address. Burial with her victim sister at Independent Golden Crown Cemetery, Montvale (Woburn), MA. Siblings were two of three fire casualties interred at Golden Crown Cemetery (also David Verstandig, age 22, a patron in another party).
