Husband was known by his middle name Robert (first name was Andrew). Husband was a machine operator at Boston Top Lift Co. (leather shoe lifts), of Boston. "The Somerville toll of dead as a result of the fire at the Cocoanut Grove Saturday night rose to eight on Tuesday with the identification of Mrs. Rose Bean...by her father..." (Somerville Journal, 12/03/1942). Her remains were transported to Waterman's Funeral Home in Boston. Husband was confined to Boston City Hospital for over two weeks until December 15. Teen couple married on June 14, in Somerville. Husband (known in later years by his given name "Andrew") would become the last living male Grove fire survivor to have lost a spouse in the disaster upon the January 2009 death of survivor and fire widower James Duggan, of Waltham, MA, at age 90 (the latter lost his wife Mary J., age 26). With her husband was one of 25 married couples present where one spouse perished and the other survived. Was a lifetime Somerville resident. Was the youngest of eight victims from the city of Somerville. At age 18 was the youngest of 94 married female casualties (count includes 93 patrons and also wed club singer Mrs. Ethel Bauer, age 32). Was the only married teen (male or female) to perish in the flames. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Emilio and Pasqualina "Lena" (Rosetta) Morello. Burial at New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan (Boston), MA. One of 22 Grove casualties interred at New Calvary Cemetery (plus another eight at the attached Mount or "Old" Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale, MA); the combined total of 30 interments was more than at any other single location.
