Last residence Davie, FL), and the latter's date, Miss Garalda "Gerry" Whitehead, age 18 (Born 8/24/1924. Died as Garalda W. Flink, on 9/22/1972, age 48. Last residence Park Forest, IL), both survived, all of Worcester. Seaman Quinn was also on a weekend furlough from the same naval training base. Account was related by Mr. Quinn (at age 76) in a letter to Yankee magazine, November 1998: "When we reached the dining room, Dick and Marion were still ahead of us. They were holding hands. It appeared as though she wanted to go back to the booth to get her new coat. That's the last I ever saw of them..." One of 19 victims from the city of Worcester, tied with Cambridge, MA, for the third-most deaths from any municipality after Boston proper (147 victims) and Quincy, MA (24 dead). Parents Mr. and Mrs. John L. and Bertha M. (Riopel) Vient, same address. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Was one of three casualties interred at Notre Dame Cemetery (also married patrons Mr. and Mrs. John, Sr., and Lucia Moossa, ages 32 and 29). Middle name John.
