Died 12/10/1967, age 68. Last residence Somerville, MA), not present, at Southern Mortuary on Tuesday morning. Husband recognized his "badly burned" wife at first by her outer attire, "...and his identification was made positive through other apparel and jewelry" (Boston Traveler, 12/01/1942). At the mortuary her husband collected a, "...Persian lamb coat which she had worn" (Boston Daily Record, 12/02/1942). Married in 1927, in Boston. Survived by children Walter, Jr., age 12 (Born 6/01/1930. Died 3/22/2017, age 86. Last residence Burlington, MA), and Margaret, age 11 (Born 8/15/1931. Died as Margaret "Peggy" Buckley on 6/10/2022, age 90. Last residence Naples, FL). Sorrowing children were photographed at their home by the Boston Daily Record on Tuesday, and again leaving Thursday funeral services with their father at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in East Boston. Son Walter was later a longtime Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee in Revere, MA. To the internet (July 2012): "My father lost his mother in the Cocoanut Grove fire. The following day a reporter came to his house and took a picture of him and his sister. It was published the next day..." (cocoanutgrovefire.org).
