Her remains were located at Northern Mortuary, Boston. "Mrs. Steensen's body was identified by her sister...who flew from New York upon notification of the death of her [the sister's] brother-in-law and the fact that her sister [the victim] was listed among those missing" (Jamaica Plain Citizen, 12/03/1942). Surname (with her husband) was misspelled "Steenson" (with an "o" on the second syllable) on the official Committee on Public Safety master list of casualties. Was the youngest of five known expecting female fire victims (also Mrs. Gladys Charles, age 29, Mrs. Louise Hubert, age 30, Mrs. Margaret Lewis, age 24, and Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Wyner, age 24, all patrons, all married). The child would have been the first for the couple. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Marino N. and Grace E. (Putnam) Lawrence. Burial with her husband at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Middle name Grace.
