An older brother, state senator Charles I. Taylor, appeared at public parole hearings in November 1946 on a proposed pardon of convicted and terminally ill club owner Barnett "Barney" Welansky (Born 11/22/1897. Died on 1/27/1947, heart failure, age 49): "Taylor...said the family held no animosity for Welansky and felt that if he were not pardoned his sentence actually would be a life one and not the sentence imposed in court" (Boston Sunday Herald, 11/24/1946).
