In a mixed group of four with her husband John, age 34, her married younger sister Mrs. Helen Cafarella, age 26, and the latter's husband Felix, age 28, both of Waltham, MA, all dead. Group had witnessed the big afternoon B.C. Eagles / Holy Cross Crusaders collegiate football game staged at Fenway Park. "The identification of Mr. Cafarella was made by an older brother...at the Southern Mortuary in Boston yesterday [Sunday] afternoon, and he planned to return last night in an effort to locate the other three bodies" (Waltham News-Tribune, 11/30/1942). Was raised in Brockton, MA. Was living (as Josephine Ann Rita Bratulevicz) in Brockton as of her 1936 marriage. Co-owned Jo's Beauty Shoppe, 103 Main Street, Brockton, with the above sister until the June '41 marriage of the latter. With her sister was one of seven female pairs of siblings lost in the blaze (also Misses Hannah and Winifred O'Dea, ages 28 age 24, Misses Rose and Sally Summer, ages 35 and 33, Misses Louise and Irma Wilding, ages 22 and 19, all single; and Mrs. Sadie Levin and Mrs. Adelaide "Addie" Wasserman, ages 38 and 32, Mrs. Ethel Slate and Mrs. Jeanette "Jennie" Zall, ages 48 and 35, and Mrs. Mildred Whitmarsh and Mrs. Margaret Lewis, ages 28 and 24, all married). Was one of four Grove fire victims to perish on their own birthdays (also Miss Margaret McDonagh, age 21, Miss Doris Rosenbaum, age 19, and Kenneth Simpson, age 31). The above beauty shop (before closing) was located directly across from McCarthy's, Inc., 102-104 Main Street, Brockton, a department store owned by a victim in a separate party, Edward McCarthy, age 47, of Brockton (assets of the latter were being liquidated in mid-December). Parents Mr. and Mrs. August and Marikona "Catherine" (Yunicka) Bratulevicz, of Brockton. Burial with her husband at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Her father would live until age 100 in April 1993, was buried with his late wife and his older Grove victim daughter and her husband. Middle name Anna.
