One of the first two Grove casualties identified by name in a "6 a.m. Extra" special early edition of the 11/29/1942 Boston Herald (also victim bartender Vincent Preziuso, age 22). Was raised in the Hub neighborhoods of Roxbury and Roslindale, MA. Was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School, Boston. Was married but separated, wife former Mabel F. Grimes, age 27 (Born 9/20/1915. Died as Mabel G. Walker on 11/02/1958, age 43. Last residence Somerville). Wife was not present. Married in 1935, in Manchester, NH. Couple was living apart as of the 1940 federal census. Left no children. His widowed wife remarried in 1944. Solid frame (WWII draft registration, October '40: 6' 0½," 180 lbs. Obvious physical characteristics: "...tattoo left arm").
