Was the youngest of the last four Grove fire victims in Hub morgues to be identified, all on the following Wednesday (also Mrs. Teresa "Jeanne" Caradonna, age 42, club waiter Alexander Dashevsky "Dashev," age 29, and Miss Antoinette Powers, age 19). Was raised in Charlestown. Was single. One of 28 persons age 17 or younger known present when the blaze broke (14 dead, 14 survived). One of 61 minors (then under age 21) taken in the disaster (of a total 490 victims). Was the youngest of five Grove casualties from the Hub "neighborhood" of Charlestown (also James Kelley, age 25, Timothy Joseph McCarthy, age 38, Miss Kathleen McLaughlin, age 23, and Joseph Sullivan, age 27, all patrons). One of 464 club guests killed in addition to 26 non-patrons deceased (including 17 employees, 6 visiting entertainers, one War Bonds salesgirl, also two outside passing fire rescuers). One of 228 victims showing "carbon monoxide poisoning" as the primary cause of death on their death certificates, the same count (exact) as those recorded dead from "burns" (another eight were listed with both causes, while an additional 26 named other origins or stated simply "trapped in burning building"). Was the 14th-youngest Grove fatality overall at age 17 years and 10+ months. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Denzil D. and Mabel J. (Hugren) Snively, same address. Father, a mariner for Malson Navigation Co., of San Francisco, CA, was away at the time of the disaster.
