Age 23. 10 Fowler Street, Quincy, MA. Born 11/24/1919, in Quincy. Died of burns (death certificate). Housewife (death certificate). Husband Arnold, age 22, also died. Remains of both were identified at Northern Mortuary in Boston. Was a graduate of Quincy High School in 1938. Occupation ('40 street listings): "clerk." Married in Woonsocket, RI, on 1/12/1941. Was a lifelong Quincy resident. Surname (with her husband) was erroneously shown on early casualty lists as "Irasson," was later corrected (proper surname spelling appeared on both death certificates and the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on the Public Safety casualties list). With her husband were two of 24 victims from the south shore city of Quincy (also Ernest Bizzozero, age 40, Mr. and Mrs. Vito and Teresa Gina Caradonna, ages 57 and 42, Joseph Clancy, age 24, Thomas Devine, age 37, Mrs. Mary "Hilda" Duggan, age 39, Miss Margaret Fitzgerald, age 33, Michael J. Fitzgerald, age 51, Miss Mary Elizabeth Flood, age 19, Lawrence "Larry" Ford, age 27, Miss Virginia MacCurdy, age 27, Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Dorothy "Frances" MacMillan, ages 30 and 26, Miss Catherine M. Murphy, age 33, Mr. and Mrs. Louis "Barry" and Helen Nash, ages 29 and 26, Mrs. Ethel Slate, age 48, Miss J. Louise Sullivan, age 27, Carl Thorne, Sr., age 49, Robert Widdop, Jr., age 31, and unwed sisters Louise and Irma Wilding, ages 22 and 19, all patrons), more than from any single community after Boston proper (147 residents dead). With her husband was one of 56 married pairs present in which both parties perished. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Philip and Elizabeth "Liza" (Silliber) Kapsis, same address. Burial with her husband at Centre Street (Chevra Chai Odom) Cemetery, West Roxbury (Boston), MA. Couple were two of four Grove casualties interred at the above Centre Street collective Jewish cemeteries (also married patrons Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Evelyn Cohen, ages 29 and 27).
