Left her house Saturday morning to spend the holiday weekend visiting in Winchester. "Her auto is parked in the garage at the Saunders home" (Woburn Daily Times, Woburn, MA, 11/30/1942). Husband Michel P., age 61 (Born 3/22/1881. Died 3/16/1962, Meadowbrook, PA, age 80), away on government assignment in Washington, DC, since November 13, flew back home early Monday. "Mr. Vucassovich...arrived in Boston this morning to find that his wife was a victim of the fire" (Gloucester Daily Times, Gloucester, MA, 11/30/1942). Couple was looking forward to a planned move to Florida. "Mrs. Vucassovich was a charming person and possessed a beautiful singing voice...She was fun loving and did much good in the way of charity..." (Beverly Evening Times, 11/30/1942). Was previously widowed, late first husband M. Warren Campbell, died in 1930. Was a member of the Beverly Artists Guild. Pair had no children. Surname was misspelled "Vucassonvich" (with an inserted "n") on her death certificate and on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety master casualties list. One of three Grove victims from the city of Beverly (also married patrons Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Virginia Downer, ages 27 and 24). Parents Mr. and Mrs. William and Anna (Carlson) Heckla. Honorary pallbearers at her December 3 funeral included Charles Fauci, Sr., Medford, MA, father of fire victim Charles Fauci, Jr., connection otherwise unknown (possibly a reporting error). Burial in the family lot at Hull Cemetery, Hull, MA. Middle name Heckla.
