Mr. Kenney was Boston College sports equipment manager and an assistant trainer. Was raised in Dorchester. Graduated Mount Saint Joseph Academy (girls' Catholic high school), Boston, in 1930. Was a graduate of Regis College, Weston, MA, 1934. Was shown by her popular-usage first name "Christine" (with an "e" at the end) on her death certificate, in published death notices and on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety master list of casualties. With her husband and their companions were two of 56 married couples present in which both spouses lost their lives. With her husband were two of 81 Grove victims (of 490 total) recorded on their death certificates as having died after the actual fire date of November 28 (also singer Ethel Bauer, age 32, who succumbed on 12/01/1942, but was misrecorded as passing on "November 28"). Couple were two of 12 casualties from the mostly residential Hub district of West Roxbury. Parents Mrs. Mary R. (Melle) and the late Mr. Louis Hertgen. Burial with her husband at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury (shown by her informal first name "Christine" on her stone). With her husband were two of eight victims interred at Mt. Benedict Cemetery (also Francis Connell, age 21, Miss Margaret "Peggy" Graham, age 28, Miss Elizabeth "Betty" Kirwan, age 20, Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Dorothy "Frances" MacMillan, ages 30 and 26, and Miss Antoinette Pivorunas "Powers," age 19, all patrons). Middle name Marie.
