Age 37. 27 Channing Road, Brookline, MA. Born 8/04/1905, in Boston. Died of burns (death certificate). Housewife (death certificate). In a multi-table party of 29 to honor cowboy actor Charles "Buck" Jones, age 50 (dead), on the main dining room raised rear terrace with her husband Edward, age 39, also dead. Couple were two of 16 victims claimed in the large film industry gathering, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rifkin, age 58 (Born 1/16/1884. Died 1/15/1966, age 81. Last residence Boston), injured, and his wife Pauline, age 56, of Newton, MA, dead. "The group had been attending a party at the home of the Rifkins and later in the evening all adjourned to the night club to continue the party" (Waltham News-Tribune, Waltham, MA, 11/30/1942). Was raised in Dorchester (Boston), MA. Married in 1924, in Brookline. Survived by a daughter Eleanor, age 16, a student at Choate School, Wallingford, CT. A double funeral service with her husband was held the following Tuesday in Brookline. The Boston Evening Globe, 12/02/1942: "Mayor [Maurice] Tobin was one of the bearers. More than 2,600 persons attended..." Reported in the 4/21/1943 Boston Evening American that the above daughter was to receive more than $125,000 from life insurance policies. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Morris and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Rudnick) Rudnick [sic]. Burial with her husband at Temple Ohabei Shalom Cemetery, East Boston (Boston), MA. With Mr. Ansin were two of three Grove casualties (of 490 total) interred at the above Jewish burial grounds (also a patron in a separate party, Miss Ruth Karmelin, age 21). Middle name Rudnick.
