Was working the elevated Caricature room service bar located against the Piedmont Street side wall. His remains were identified at Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge, MA. Was one of the first two Grove casualties identified by name in a "6 a.m. Extra" early edition of the 11/29/1942 Boston Herald (also patron Howard Johnson, age 31). Was the youngest of ten club bartenders on duty and the youngest of five to perish (also Martin "Marty" Breen, age 41, John "Bruno" Marchi, age 29, Paul Mikalonis "Mitchell," age 27, and William "Bubbles" Shea, age 34), five others survived (John Bradley, age 33, John Capuana, age 35, Samuel Goldberg, age 41, Walter Reddick, age 49, and Emilio Soracco, age 55). Was raised in Somerville. Had been hired at the Grove as a waiter. Stout build (WWII draft registration, July '41: 5' 6," 190 lbs.). Was single. Was the lone non-patron of eight Grove victims taken from nearby Somerville (also Miss Sophia Antico, age 28, Mrs. Rose Bean, age 18, Miss Marjorie Currier, age 39, Joseph Fortunati, age 28, Howard Johnson, age 31, Miss Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Keefe, age 20, and Sica "Sam" Wyner, age 28). One of 120 persons known working at the club (including employees, entertainers and salespersons) when disaster struck (24 died, 96 others survived). Parents Mrs. Olimpia (Cerrato), same address, and the late Mr. Vicenzo "Vincent" Preziuso, Sr. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA. One of 16 fire victims interred at Holy Cross Cemetery, the fifth-greatest final resting grounds for all Grove casualties and second-most at any single location outside Boston proper (after Fuller Street collective Jewish cemeteries, Everett, MA, with 18 dead).
