Operated with his older brother Harry, age 29 (not present), and younger brother Max, age 26, dead, under the trade name of "Wyner's Used Cars." Was known as "Sam." Was in a reported party of eight, six died including his fiancée Miss Ruth Karmelin, age 22, of Brookline, MA. Party survivor Lieut. Bernard N. "Bucky" Levin, U.S. Army, age 30, claimed in spring 1943 Grove manslaughter trial testimony the group consisted of only five, with four dead, none named. Was engaged to marry Miss Karmelin on December 13. His remains were transported to Northern Mortuary in Boston. Was a graduate of Somerville High School in 1931. "He was a baseball and track star in school..." (Boston Evening American, 11/30/1942). Was also known as "Si" (or "Cy"). First name was shown as "Silas" in era street listings (may be an error), "Sica" all other sources. Medium build (WWII draft registration, October '40: 5' 9," 173 lbs.). Was one of eight victims from the nearby city of Somerville (also Miss Sophia Antico, age 28, Mrs. Rose Bean, age 18, Miss Marjorie Currier, age 39, Joseph Fortunati, age 28, Howard Johnson, age 31, Miss Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Keefe, age 20, all patrons, and Grove bartender Vincent Preziuso, Jr., age 22). With his younger brother were the only all-male pair of siblings present to both lose their lives, (seven pairs of sisters and nine sets of mixed-gender siblings were also lost, plus four Fitzgerald brothers, all of Wilmington, MA). Parents Mrs. Annie (Glazer), same address, and the late Mr. Hyman Wyner. Burial with his victim brother and sister-in-law in the family lot at Fuller Street (Temple Beth Shalom) Cemetery, Everett, MA.
