Age 24. 66 Butler Street, Worcester, MA. Born on 7/17/1918, in Worcester. Died of burns (death certificate). Drill operator, Parker & Harper Manufacturing Co. (screw machine products), Worcester. Was in a party of six with his girlfriend and coworker Miss Hazel Proal, age 25, also Warren Foisy, age 27, the latter's date Miss Helen Fitzpatrick, age 24, and Mr. and Mrs. David and Sophie Sundberg, ages 24 and 25 respectively, all of Worcester, all dead. All but Miss Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Sundberg were employed at the Parker & Harper firm. Group had attended the historic afternoon College of the Holy Cross 55-to-12 football upset over nationally top-ranked Boston College (the undefeated Eagles had outscored their opponents 249-to-14 in eight previous games) at Fenway Park. His remains were identified at Northern Mortuary, Boston. A fifth Parker & Harper employee, Harold Westerman, age 19 (Born 3/21/1923. Died 4/21/1999, age 76. Last residence Millbury, MA), of Millbury, MA, was reported as missing Monday morning and feared dead, but had not joined the others at the club. Was a graduate of North High School, Worcester. Was single. Was tall and very lean (WWII draft registration, October '40: 6' 0," 133 lbs.). With his girlfriend were two of 19 victims from the central Bay State city of Worcester (also Miss Anna Chiras, age 22, Miss Monica Conlon, age 22, Samuel Falcone, age 28, Hubert Fitch, age 26, Miss Sadie Fors, age 17, Charles Hildreth, Jr., age 22, Mr. and Mrs. Eric and Mary Johnson, ages 43 and 42, Boris Lolo, age 25, Mrs. Marion Looby, age 19, Mr. and Mrs. John, Sr., and Lucia Moossa, ages 32 and 29, and Richard Vient, age 20, plus all in his party, all patrons). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Ellen R. (Peterson) Biggar, same address. Burial at Hope Cemetery, Worcester, one of seven Grove fire casualties interred at the above resting grounds. Middle name Herman.
