Age 33. 4 Chiswick Road, Brighton (Boston), MA. Born 6/14/1909, in Roxbury (Boston), MA. Died of burns (death certificate). Family business manager, Century Restaurant, 100 Tremont Street, Boston. Was attending the club with his wife Ruth, age 33, dead. Pair had witnessed the season-ending afternoon Holy Cross 55-to-12 football rout of nationally top-ranked Boston College at Fenway Park with another couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Dorothy D. Sharkey, of Epping, NH. The latter (not present) returned to their New Hampshire home following the Eagles' stunning defeat. His remains were identified at Northern Mortuary, Boston. Was raised in Brookline, MA. Was a graduate of Clark Preparatory School (boys' private academy), Hanover, NH. Graduate of Harvard University in 1933. Earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Boston University. Married on 9/24/1938, in Epping, NH. With his wife was one of 56 married pairs present in which both spouses lost their lives. Couple were two of 19 Grove victims from the Hub "neighborhood" of Brighton (the second greatest city district loss after Dorchester, with 38 dead). The above eatery, later known as "Century Café," was acquired and absorbed into the regional Red Coach Grill steak house chain in 1956. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul M., Sr., and Carolina M. (Marino) Carbone. Burial with his wife at Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton. Couple were two of three Grove casualties interred at Evergreen Cemetery (also patron Miss Sirkka Lindgren, age 22). Posthumous in memoriam poem published one year later in the 11/28/1943 Boston Herald starts: "...Oft times our footsteps wander, to a grave not far away. Where they quietly laid you, Ruth and Paul, just one year ago today..." Middle name Morris.
