"Miss Currier had been a frequent visitor at the Grove and always sat at Alpert's table" (Boston Globe, 11/30/1942). Was reported (same source) as accompanied by an otherwise unidentified Miss Margaret Burke, also of Somerville, escaped. Main dining room patron and survivor Francis Driscoll, age 26, to Boston Police on Sunday (quote): "Mickey Alpert was sitting at a table with some friends on the right of us." Also: "We stayed until I heard Mickey Alpert say it was 10:30 and that the floor show was about to start..." (Boston Fire Dept. inquest, 12/01/1942). Her body was located next Monday morning at Southern Mortuary in Boston by an older brother Reynold (not present). Was single. Was raised in Somerville. Formerly a resident of Lexington, MA. One of eight victims from the city of Somerville (also Miss Sophia Antico, age 28, Mrs. Rose Bean, age 18, Joseph Fortunati, age 28, Howard Johnson, age 31, Miss Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Keefe, age 20, club bartender Vincent Preziuso, Jr., age 22, and Sica "Sam" Wyner, age 28). One of 234 females killed in the holocaust, also 256 men died (the latter count includes two outside passing rescue workers), a total of 490 deaths. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. and Sadie F.
