Age 52. 52 Mansfield Street, Allston (Boston), MA. Born (as Margaret A. Ford) on 7/14/1890, Fall River, MA. Died of burns (death certificate). Spinner, silk mill (death certificate). In a main dining room group of 15 known as the "Allston-Brighton Sewing Circle" party (source of the group name which first appeared in next-day news coverage was never established). Fourteen died, including her husband James, age 55. Lone group survivor was Frederick Harrington, age 52 (Born 9/21/1890. Died 4/21/1972, age 81. Last residence Dorchester, MA). an inspector for the city of Boston Board of Health Dept. (his wife Catherine "Vernie," age 51, did not attend). Was one of only two confirmed female fatalities (of 64 names) on the first "List of Known Dead," published in an early special edition of the 11/29/1942 Boston Sunday Globe (also Mrs. Constance "Connie" Sheridan, age 28, a victim in a separate party). A married younger sister Mildred (as "Mrs. O. S. Ganong, Middletown, R.I.") wrote one of the few positive notes concerning the disaster to The Boston Post, 12/11/1942: "I wish to express...our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Boston police department...The personal belongings of our beloved relatives, Mr. and Mrs. McFarlin, were preserved and turned over to us...completely intact, and contents of billfolds and pocketbook were undisturbed, along with miscellaneous jewelry." Was raised in the seaport city of Fall River. Married in 1915, in Fall River. Victims Mr. Harold James Ford, age 34, and his married sister Mrs. Eva Healy, age 41, in the same group, were misreported in some accounts as her siblings (same birth surname "Ford" but different parents). Parents Mr. and Mrs. John and Katherine (O'Connell) Ford. Military burial with her husband at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury (Boston), MA. Middle name Ford.
