Companion (or companions) at the Grove unknown. Her remains were identified on Sunday at Southern Mortuary, Boston. Was raised in Quincy, MA, and in Boston. Was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls, Boston, 1941 (classmate of fire victim Miss Beatrice Goldstein, also age 19, no known connection except their surnames appeared consecutively among all 490 Grove victims). As a 10-year-old fifth-grader in the Quincy school system submitted poems to her hometown paper, one of which (prophetically) ends: "So now I will say goodby [sic] / For my dream away is going to fly" (Quincy Patriot Ledger, 12/22/1933). Was single. Last name was misspelled "Golsov" (missing the second "o") on her death certificate, correct in death notices and on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety master list of casualties. One of 61 minors (then under age 21) to perish. One of three taken from the Hub "neighborhood" of Mattapan (also Miss Betty Cohen, age 28, and Miss Claire Levine, age 17, both patrons). One of 464 club guests killed in addition to 26 non-patrons deceased (including 17 employees, 6 visiting entertainers, one War Bonds salesgirl, and two outside passing fire rescuers). Parents Mr. and Mrs. James S. and Freeda (Barron) Golosov, same address. Father was a local insurance agent with The Prudential Insurance Co. of America, of Newark, NJ. Burial at Grove Street (Hebrew Progressive) Cemetery, West Roxbury (Boston), MA. One of ten fire casualties interred at the above Grove Street collective Jewish cemeteries. Inscription on her stone reads: "Our dear daughter and sister." Middle name Sonia.
