Group had attended the Saturday afternoon College of the Holy Cross Crusaders' 55-to-12 football upset over 4-to-1 favorite Boston College at Fenway Park. His remains were identified at Waterman's Funeral Home, in Boston. Survived by a son John, Jr., age 1. Surname was shown as "Toney" through 1924 street listings, "Moossa" as of '27 listings and thereafter. Middle initial was misreported as "M." on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety master list of casualties. At 5' 9," 230 lbs. (WWII draft registration, October '40) was one of eight known males at the club of at least 230 lbs. when the blaze broke (based on WWII draft registrations, includes nearly all men present except those already in military service or born starting in 1925). Was the fourth-heaviest male victim of the blaze after bartender William "Bubbles" Shea, age 34, 300+ lbs., also patrons Arthur Broderick, age 43, 270 lbs., and Stanley Resnick, age 27, 235 lbs. (according to weights reported on their draft registrations). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Anthony P. and Nebeeha K. "Mary" (Karam) Moossa (formerly "Toney"). His father (Born 2/23/1883. Died 5/02/1989) would later live to age 106. Burial with his wife at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
