His leave had been extended by 24 hours so the group could attend the big season-ending B.C./Holy Cross collegiate football game at Fenway Park as a farewell to Sergt. Sullivan. Was scheduled to depart by plane next Monday for Officers' Candidate school. Was one of 60 "probable identifications" inventoried Sunday morning by Boston City Hospital at Southern Mortuary, Boston (all male). "His charred body had been identified by the disc all military personnel...wear about their necks" (Haverhill Evening Gazette, 11/30/1942). Group was to be joined by friends Mr. and Mrs. Francis P.
