Age 22. 134 Walnut Street, Everett, MA. Born 3/31/1920, in Chelsea, MA. "Burned in a conflagration" (death certificate). Machinist, J. G. Blount Co. (machine tool builders), of Everett. Was attending the club with his girlfriend Miss Shirley Anderson, age 19, of Arlington, MA, also perished. "The couple left her home early Saturday evening and had planned to go to a theatre, but it is believed they found it crowded and decided to go to the Cocoanut Grove" (The Arlington News, 12/04/1942). His remains were brought to Northern Mortuary, Boston. Was raised in Everett. Was a graduate of Everett High School in 1938. Scholastic nickname "Shino." Was single. Slender build (WWII draft registration, July '41: 5' 11," 145 lbs.). Was one of 237 male patrons to succumb in the disaster (also 227 female guests; an additional 26 deaths were non-patrons), a total of 490 dead. One of five victims from the Hub suburb of Everett (also Miss Patricia Ann "Patsy" Carey, age 22, musician Bernardo Fazioli, age 45, Miss Dorothy Haggett, age 28, and Miss Roberta Jennie Russell, age 29). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. and Mary A. (Kilbane) Collins, same address. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA. One of 12 casualties interred at the above resting grounds (also Miss Marion "Minnie" Chalmers, age 30, Mrs. Margaret Esther Conley, age 41, Charles Fauci, Jr., age 21, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy and Margaret Feeny, ages 34 and 33, Howard Johnson, age 31, S/Sergt. James Kelley, U.S.M.C., age 25, Norman Paré, age 25, Miss Ruth Preble, age 27, Mrs. Margaret Stewart, age 25, all patrons, and club cashier William Warren, age 24). Middle name Joseph.
