All but Mrs. Duggan were employed (or formerly so) at the above machinist works. Group witnessed the season-ending afternoon B.C./Holy Cross football match-up at Fenway Park in Boston, where Mr. Boratyn had played halfback for the 1941 College of the Holy Cross Crusaders squad. Remains were identified at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston. Status was misreported in newspapers as "injured" as late as the following Monday (his death certificate confirms the actual death date as November 28). Wife former Miss Olive Williams, age 22 (Born 11/19/1920. Died as Olive Zanchetti on 9/08/2001, Upton, MA, age 80), married (at age 18) on 11/22/1938, in Northbridge (marriage certificate: "by permission of father"). Wife was not present. Was a former football star at Northbridge High School and at Dean Academy, Franklin, MA (WWII draft registration, February '42: 6' 1," 190 lbs.). Nickname "Bud." Was living in the southern Worcester County town of Blackstone at the time of his marriage. Survived by a son, John, Jr., age 3.
