Was one of 256 males deceased (including two outside passing rescue workers) in addition to 234 women dead (for a total of 490 casualties). With his wife were two of 81 victims recorded on their death certificates as having perished after the actual fire date of November 28 (also singer Ethel Bauer, age 32, who died on 12/01/1942, but was misrepresented as passing on "November 28").
