Age 27. 54 Revere Street, Quincy, MA. Born 1/28/1915, in Quincy. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning (death certificate). Secretary, Bethlehem Steel Co., Fore River Shipyard, Quincy. Known by her middle name Louise. First name Jane. In a mixed-gender foursome with her fiancé Lawrence "Larry" Ford, age 27, and a second engaged couple, Robert "Bob" Widdop, age 31, and Miss Virginia "Ginnie" MacCurdy, age 27, all of Quincy, all dead. Party was to celebrate their respective engagements. Quincy Patriot Ledger, 11/30/1942: "She was located last night [Sunday], and identified by a brother." Observed online (in February 2012): "My Aunt Louise Sullivan whom I was named after...was identified, as I was told, by her engagement ring...They had intended to go to another establishment, but it was full" (www3.gendisasters.com). Also (in November 2014): "I think of my aunt a lot, and have tried to learn about Lawrence T. Ford...They are in my heart and prayers" (www3.gendisasters.com). Was raised in Quincy. Was formerly a coworker with Mr. Widdop at Remick's clothing store, in Quincy. Couple made society news in September 1941 when they, "...visited Washington, D.C., Virginia points of interest, and Atlantic City" (Quincy Patriot Ledger, 9/17/1941). Her party included four of 24 victims taken from the south shore city of Quincy (also Ernest Bizzozero, age 40, Mr. and Mrs. Vito and Teresa Gina Caradonna, ages 57 and 42, Joseph Clancy, age 24, Thomas Devine, age 37, Mrs. Mary "Hilda" Duggan, age 39, Miss Margaret Fitzgerald, age 33, Michael J. Fitzgerald, age 51, Miss Mary Elizabeth Flood, age 19, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold and Gertrude Isaacson, ages 22 and 23, Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Dorothy "Frances" MacMillan, ages 30 and 26, Miss Catherine M. Murphy, age 33, Mr. and Mrs. Louis "Barry" and Helen Nash, ages 29 and 26, Mrs. Ethel Slate, age 48, Carl Thorne, Sr., age 49, and sisters Louise and Irma Wilding, ages 22 and 19, all patrons), more than from any single community after Boston proper (147 residents lost). Was one of three female victims (of eleven total dead, including the above Wilding sisters) employed at the Fore River shipyard. Parents Mrs. Jane H. "Jennie" (Hanson), same address, and the late Mr. John W. Sullivan. Burial at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
