Was one of four Grove victims pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston (also patrons John Bagley, age 21, Samuel Falcone, age 28, and Norman Paré, age 25). Wife former Kathryn L. Kritzmacher, age 28 (Born 12/16/1913. Died as Katherine [sic] L. Stiles on 9/02/1987, Duxbury, MA, age 73), married in 1934. Wife was not present. His wife claimed at Boston Police Headquarters on the following Thursday, "...a brown herringbone coat, wet and dirty" (Boston Daily Record, 12/04/1942). Was living with his wife in Worcester, MA, as of 1939 street listings (manager, Costello's, Inc., radio repair, Milford, MA). Survived by children Marjorie, age 7, and Thomas, age 1. Was tall and trim (WWII draft registration, October '40: 6' 1," 140 lbs.). Was the lone victim from the Plymouth County town of Kingston. The above rivet manufacturer established in 1848 continued in operation until 1975 (its rambling three-story wooden factory complex, actually located over the town line in Kingston, remained mostly vacant for decades thereafter).
