Others present: Robert Biggar, age 24, Miss Hazel Proal, age 25, and Mr. and Mrs. David and Sophie Sundberg, ages 24 and 25 respectively, all of Worcester, all perished (Mrs. Sundberg was the other non-Parker & Harper employee). Group had attended the afternoon 55-to-12 football upset by Holy Cross over nationally top-ranked Boston College at Fenway Park. Remains were identified on Monday morning at Southern Mortuary, Boston, "...by means of jewelry she wore and a brilliant red dress" (The Boston Globe, 11/30/1942). Was raised in Worcester. Was single. Graduate of Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. Appeared on one early published list of missing as, "Rose Fitzgerald [sic], nurse at Worcester City Hospital" (Boston Evening American, 12/01/1942). One of 234 females killed, along with 256 males (the latter count includes two outside passing rescue workers), a total of 490 dead. One of 19 victims from the central Bay State city of Worcester and home to the College of the Holy Cross. Parents Mrs. Sadie A. (Clark) and stepfather Mr. Lester R. Harris, same address. Divorced birth father Mr. Henry W. Fitzpatrick. Burial at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
