His mother appeared at public parole board hearings held in November 1946 for jailed club owner Barnett "Barney" Welansky (Born 11/22/1897. Died 1/27/1947, heart failure, age 49), asked rhetorically (quote): "My son is dead. If this man is pardoned, is that justice?" (The Boston Herald, 11/26/1946).
