Died 2/13/1993, age 77. Both last residence Worcester), plus Miss Mary Rita Canning, age 26 (Born 11/19/1916. Died as Mary Rita Krizik on 2/04/2010, age 93), the latter a younger sister of Mr. Canning. The latter three survived. His fiancée was a younger stepsister of Mr. Canning and Mary Rita Canning. All hailed from Worcester. Group was seated in the main dining room "near the bandstand" when the fire broke. Was a graduate of North High School, Worcester. Was formerly a manager at a family shoe store, Hildreth's Health Footwear, 45 Pleasant Street, Worcester. His photo caption was reversed with that of a victim in a separate Worcester party, Boris Lolo, age 25, in early casualty montages of some Boston papers, then corrected (proper image shown here). Moderate build (WWII draft registration, February '42: 5' 6," 145 lbs. Ironic obvious physical characteristics: "burn on left hand"). One of seven Grove victims recorded on their death certificates as having passed during transit to the neighboring city of Cambridge (also Mrs. Josephine Donovan, age 33, Gerald Downer, age 27, club waiter Sam Dowaliby, age 33, Charles Duhamel, age 27, James Fitzgerald, age 38, and Grove service cashier Miss Katherine "Kate" Swett, age 67).
