Age 36. 64 Garland Street, Chelsea, MA. Born (as Barnet Supowitz) on 10/08/1906, in Chelsea. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning (death certificate). Shoe salesman, Wm. Filene's Sons Co. (apparel), Boston. Also known as "Barney." Was one of six individuals named in news accounts as present in a main dining room engagement announcement party for Theodore "Ted" Fisher, age 27, of Brighton (Boston), MA, and Miss Betty Cohen, age 28, of Mattapan (Boston), MA, all ten died (a widely misreported group count of "22" was over-inflated). His remains were located at Southern Mortuary in Boston. Was reported in the 11/30/1942 Chelsea Evening Record to be observed at the club by an acquaintance, Albert Sandler, age 24, of Chelsea (not present), who dropped in and talked with Mr. Supowitz but left before the disaster started. One of 60 "probable identifications" inventoried by Boston City Hospital on Sunday morning (8:00 a.m.) at Southern Mortuary, Boston (all male). Was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Was a graduate of Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, Boston. Was single. Was living in Chelsea as of 1927 street listings (accountant and evening school teacher). Living at the Chelsea address above as of '32 street listings (accountant) and '37 listings ("sales"). Moderate build (WWII draft registration, October '40: 5' 8," 165 lbs.). One of seven victims from the neighboring city of Chelsea (also patrons Oscar Gerson, age 34, Miss Adaline Goodman, age 22, William Roger Kaufman, age 28, Miss Myrna "Minnie" Rubin, age 24, and Myer Weisman, age 40, and party companion Abraham "Richard" Plager, age 34). Parents Mrs. Ray (Feinberg), same address, and the late Mr. William Supowitz. Burial at Montvale Cemetery, Woburn, MA, the lone Grove casualty interred at the above resting grounds.
