Age 19. 480 Norfolk Street, Dorchester (Boston), MA. Born on 9/15/1923, in Boston. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning and inhalation of smoke (death certificate). Salesgirl (death certificate). Companion (or companions) at the Grove unknown. Her remains were identified at Southern Mortuary, Boston. Was living with her family (at age 6) in Medway, MA, as of the 1930 federal census. Graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls, Boston, 1941 (was a classmate of fire victim Miss Lillian Golosov, also age 19, no other known connection). Was single. Survived by a younger sister Ann, age 10 (Born 8/15/1932. Died as Mrs. Ann L. Weinberg on 1/18/2018, age 85), not present. The latter (at age 85) had planned to attend the November 2017 75th anniversary observations of the disaster held at the former club site but declined due to ill health. Was one of 61 minors (then under age 21) claimed by the blaze (of a total 490 victims). One of 38 taken from the Dorchester "neighborhood" of Boston, twice the count of the next greatest Hub community loss (Brighton, with 19 dead). Parents Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Eva (Toy) Goldstein, same address. Father was store manager, Woodrow Wine & Liquor Store, Inc., of Dorchester. Burial at Mount Lebanon (Polonnoe) Cemetery, West Roxbury (Boston), MA. One of 23 Grove casualties interred at Mount Lebanon collective Jewish cemeteries, the third-most after connected Mount or "Old" Calvary and New Calvary cemeteries (30 burials), followed by St. Joseph's Cemetery (24 burials), both also in Boston. Impressive large white marble monument-style marker reads in part, "In memory of our beloved daughter and sister..."
