Two other Wellesley College undergrads and their dates also lost their lives in the same group of eight. "The names of the student escorts were found on the 'evening out' record books at the girls' dormitories" (The Boston Globe, 12/01/1942). Was one of the first two Harvard casualties confirmed by the college on early Sunday as deceased (also Lieut. Eugene Goss, U.S. Army, Signal Corps, age 22): "Their bodies were identified this morning [Sunday] at the Massachusetts General Hospital" (Boston Sunday Post, 11/29/1942). One of five Harvard civilian undergrad fire victims (also ten military trainees were lost for a total of 15 dead, more than from any other single institution). Was raised in New York City.
