Age 24. 25 Plant Court, Jamaica Plain (Boston), MA. Born (as Anna H. Fahey) on 10/20/1918, in Boston. Died of carbon monoxide poisoning (death certificate). Waitress, Schrafft's restaurant, in Boston (death certificate). Husband Louis, age 28, also died. With her husband was celebrating the early honorable release of the latter from the U.S. Navy so he could continue civilian defense work as a crane operator in Watertown, MA. Couple was in a mixed-gender foursome with Pvt. Fred Altieri, U.S. Army, age 29, of Allston (Boston), MA, and his fiancée, Miss Evelyn Gartland, age 27, of Brighton (Boston), MA, both dead. Group had attended the afternoon College of the Holy Cross 55-to-12 football upset over nationally top-ranked Boston College at Fenway Park. "Mrs. Meyer's body was among the last to be identified at the Southern Mortuary" (Jamaica Plain Citizen, 12/03/1942). Was raised in Brighton. Married the past June 7. With her husband were two of eight Grove victims from the Hub "neighborhood" of Jamaica Plain (also Mrs. Lillian Daley, age 31, Miss Rita Duffley, age 28, Miss Josephine Gibbons, age 24, Miss Antoinette Pivorunas "Powers," age 19, and Mr. and Mrs. John and Marion Steensen, ages 29 and 23, all patrons). Couple was one of 56 married pairs present in which both partners lost their lives. Parents Mr. and Mrs. James E. and Hannah (O'Donnell) Fahey. Burial with her husband at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown. With her husband were two of three fire casualties interred in the nearby city of Watertown (also patron Dr. Lloyd E. Beckwith, age 29), and lone victims laid to rest at the above burial grounds. Middle name Louise.
