Couple was seated in a main dining room party with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore "Ted" Wasserman, age 39, and wife Adelaide "Addie," age 32, of Brookline, MA (recently of Portland, ME), also Mr. and Mrs. Bernard "Ben" Levin, age 40, and wife Sadie, age 38, of Newton, MA. Mr. Levin (Born 7/04/1902. Died 3/05/1971, age 68. Last residence Newton) was the lone survivor in the gathering of six. Mrs. Levin (a married older sister of Mrs. Wasserman) was recognized by a (non-present) brother-in-law as the patron smiling in the background of a photo obtained from the camera of roving club photographer Doris "Lynne" Andrews, age 24 (Born 6/09/1918. Died on 9/19/1945, pulmonary tuberculosis, age 27), not present (was returning on foot from a nearby darkroom when fire broke), after a posed print made three hours pre-fire of four unconnected diners was published on the front page of The Boston Globe, 12/03/1942 (the intended subjects refused the print and never came forward nor were ever identified). Her remains were brought to Northern Mortuary, Boston. Was raised in New Jersey. Married in 1926, in Newark. Moved with her husband from Brookline, MA, to Portland, ME, in 1937. With the Wassermans were two of 56 married couples present in which both spouses lost their lives. With her husband were two of 464 club guests killed in addition to 26 non-patrons deceased (including 17 employees, 6 visiting entertainers, one War Bonds salesgirl, also two outside passing fire rescuers), total of 490 dead.
