Couple came to the Boston area for three days to visit the family of her husband in Lynn over the Thanksgiving weekend. Was raised in Binghamton. Was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School in 1940. Married on 11/22/1941, in Binghamton (their first wedding anniversary occurred six days before the blaze). Prior to her marriage was a clerk for New York state Draft Board #453, in Binghamton. Resided with her parents at Binghamton until the latter moved to Hoboken, NJ, earlier in the year. The Lynn address above was that of her husband's grandfather (both Watertown, NY, and Lynn addresses were included on the final official November 1943 Boston Committee on Public Safety casualties list). With her husband were two of six fire victims from the city of Lynn (also club waiter Christes Roumeliotis, age 25, and patrons Miss Dorothy Scherer, age 20, Mrs. Helen Simpson, age 35, and Miss Leah Sudnovsky, age 23). Couple was one of 56 married pairs present in which both spouses lost their lives. Left no children. Parents Mr. and Mrs. William J. and Vera C. Davis. Burial with her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA. With her husband were two of 16 fire victims buried at the above resting grounds, the fifth-greatest final destination for all Grove casualties (of 490) and second-most at any single site outside Boston proper (after Fuller Street collective Jewish cemeteries, Everett, MA, with 18 dead).
