On November 28, 2020, the 78th anniversary date of the Cocoanut Grove fire,

a number of members of the Cocoanut Grove Memorial gathered at the site of the former nightclub on Piedmont Street

in the Bay Village neighborhood to pay respects to the 492 individuals who died as a result of the fire

and many who were injured as well as the first responders and medical professionals, and the hundreds of families related to this tragedy.
